IMMIGRANT AND REFUGEE EDUCATION

Since 1981, the English Learning Center has been a crucial step for thousands of immigrants and refugees in our community. English, math, computer skills, and citizenship exam preparation are available to students.

The classes at the English Learning Center are culturally sensitive, but not culturally specific. Over 450 students come each year from a wide variety of countries. The students speak many different languages. Students in a classroom must work together to learn and communicate in English.

The English Learning Center makes a world of difference in the lives of our students. Our multi-faceted approach encourages students to study English, while they learn the practical skills they need to live in this culture.
